Doula Services

Amber Tankersley is our Doula as well as a licensed massage practitioner. She provides birthing Doula sevices to laboring mothers and their families.

"As a Doula, I recognize birth as a key life experience that the mother will remember all her life. I understand the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor. I assist the laboring mother and her partner and family by helping them prepare for the birth and carrying out their plan for their birth. As a doula, I stay with the laboring mother throughout her entire labor by providing her emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint, and assistance to the woman in getting the information she needs to make informed decisions while in labor. By assisting the mother, I also help her communicate with her care providers, partner, and anyone else with whom she might need to communicate."

Doula services are priced at $800 with a non-refundable retainer fee of $200 and include the following:

1. Being on call 24/7 for the birthing mother from week 36 on.
2. Being by the birthing mother's side the entire time during her labor and delivery for as long as she wishes.
3. Prenatal meetings (2 before the baby is born, but can fit in 3 if needed). First meeting is at the time of hire / second meeting is 3-4 weeks before the baby is due.

A non refundable retainer fee of $200 is required to secure Amber's services.The balance ($600) is due and payable within 30 days after the baby is born.

Required paperwork to be filled out immediately after hire includes your birth plan and a little info about you - anything that you may wish for me to know - along with a standard service agreement.
